The first game of this series. The Braves are on fire lately 8-2 in their last 10 games, and roll into pittsburg. With a win tonight and a Florida loss to the White Sox , we will have gone from the cellar of the NL East to a tie for second place. Having struggled thru the toughest part of their schedule in April and May the braves may be finding their mojo. The bravos play the Pirates 6 out of their next 9 games, with a 3 game series with the Marlins smack dab in the middle. The pirates have been struggling and this is a perfect opportunity for the braves to show Bobby Cox just what they're made of.
Most exciting thing about the last few weeks, is Troy Glaus . He is batting .364 (32 for 88) in his last 25 games. In that period, he's had four home runs, three doubles and 15 walks, and driven in 19 runs. His bat is definately coming alive, and it is a very encouraging sign. Hopefully he can maintain this pace, and his health thruout the season.
Hopefully Brian McCann starts to come around, he needs to solve the mystery that is his eye sight, his numbers are very unimpressive thus far hopefully the medocre pitching of the pirates can give Mac the boost he needs, or Cox may have to start moving him down the order and let Glaus hit cleanup.
Lets go bravos.
